About Us

It all started with

neighbours sharing a beer or two . . .

Railyard Brewing started as a friendly conversation; we were neighbours living across the street from each other, sharing beers along with dreams of opening a craft beer business. Both of us have a passion for quality craft beer, and we realized that we had skills that complemented each other. After years of home brewing, we felt that we were ready to take the next step. Our enthusiasm combined with a commitment to quality has been the cornerstone of building Railyard Brewing. Dreams do come true and the doors of Railyard Brewing opened, in December 2017, and we have been growing Railyard ever since.

Why the name Railyard Brewing? We knew that we wanted to create great craft beer and combine it with an artistic vibe. Inspiration can come from the most unusual places and ours was when we were stopped at a railway crossing. Freight cars full of malt passed by with phenomenal murals of graffiti art. It was this combination that inspired us to create Railyard Brewing.

We toast the railway and the traditional grain-cars that carried malts to generations of brewers before us. The artistic design on our products and in our tasting room/event space is a tribute to the creative talent of the railcar graffiti artists.  By decorating the railcars they have created a moving exhibition showcasing their art for all of us to enjoy.

Our products are perfect for friends and family. We offer innovative small batches and a line of excellent mainstay beers. Join us in the taproom, located near Calgary Airport, for some great tasting beer and check-out our unique taproom/event space.

This is a tribute to our heritage and a toast to our future.
