Railyard Brewing is excited to add to our dynamic taproom team. We are a growing brewery and love all things craft beer and strive to convey that through the experiences and products we offer not only throughout the province but in our taproom as well. We are searching for a few amazing candidates who prides themselves in providing customers with memorable experiences, challenges themselves to constantly learn, and thrives in a fast a paced environment.

Successful candidates will be a vital part of our taproom and will contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Pour and serve our products in the taproom.

  • Ability to answer questions and make recommendations regarding our beer selection.

  • Be knowledgeable about the craft beer scene and the brewing process to share with customers. Also, be able to discuss the elements of craft beer to our guests.

  • Be willing to be trained on the art and science of craft brewing and craft beers.

  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately into the Point of Sale system.

  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change, if applicable.

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the taproom.

  • Adhere to all COVID19 regulations and health standards

  • Assist in the daily restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies.

  • Be familiar with Railyard Brewing promotions and sales and assist with special events.

  • Promote the Railyard Brewing brand.

  • Complete opening and closing duties under the direction of managers.

  • Demonstrate the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience as a server

  • Open availability, able to work 20 – 30hrs per week

  • Available days, evenings and weekends

  • Possess a valid Alberta ProServe certification.

  • Be willing to successfully complete Brewery Tour and Beer School training provided by Railyard Brewing

  • Strong knowledge of restaurant/tap room operations and service procedures.

  • Must have experience in a high paced environment such as a Bar, Pub or Restaurant

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money and POS systems.

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally moving a full Keg.

  • Punctual and regular, reliable attendance.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge. Experience Lightspeed POS is a plus.

  • Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment.

  • Positive, infectious attitude, personable, and customer service oriented.

  • Passion for the service industry, desire to be part of a team and hard work.

  • Well-versed in: beer history, brewing techniques; preparation techniques, styles, flavor profiles or possess a willingness to learn.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must have your own reliable vehicle.
